You may think it’s a funny question, and I’m sure there’s a lot of fun to be had from it, but the fact is, if unicorns eat, they have to poop too. They are not so magical that they can disobey the basic laws of life.

This may sound strange, but we can’t pretend that we’re not just a little bit curious about what these magical beasts can do with their backs! Most of us like the surreal idea of mythical and majestic creatures that poop.

Chances are, unicorn droppings look like horse droppings. After all, unicorns have a lot in common with other equids, so their digestive systems probably work the same way.

Unicorn poop often smells better than horse poop, especially if it has eaten rainbow food. Instead of grass, it smells like sunshine and flowers, vanilla, strawberries or even candy. This would make cleaning up after them much more attractive if someone were to do it. Just make sure that if you come across any on a walk, you don’t eat them! It may smell good, but think about where it comes from.

That said, it is good to remember that some people are so fascinated by the idea of unicorns pooping that they have made assorted foods. Although you should never eat the real thing, you can buy “magic unicorn peanuts”, or you can use rainbow asparagus to decorate edible play dough for games. A little vanilla essence.
